Nokia making official Qt port to Maemo 5

Nokia has revealed that it is working on a Qt port to Maemo 5 and has actually released a technology preview of the package. Based on Qt 4.6, which is set to arrive in Q1 2010, but also on the community-driven Qt for Maemo project, the port enables developers to make use of the cross-platform application and UI framework to make their software work on the upcoming Maemo 5-loaded N900 ‘mobile computer’ and also on Maemo 6, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices. Masa Krisis, Bisnis Video Game justru Meroket
Terpaan krisis ekonomi ternyata belum mempengaruhi bisnis video game di Amerika Serikat. Menurut data biro peneliti pasar NPD, penjualan hardware dan software video game di AS pada bulan November justru melonjak 10 persen dibanding November 2007.

World’s oldest person from indiana died at 115 years old
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – Edna Parker, who became the world’s oldest person more than a year ago, has died at age 115.
UCLA gerontologist Dr. Stephen Coles said Parker’s great-nephew notified him that Parker died Wednesday at a nursing home in Shelbyville. She was 115 years, 220 days old, said Robert Young, a senior consultant for gerontology for Guinness World Records.
Parker was born April 20, 1893, in central Indiana’s Morgan County and had been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest person since the 2007 death in Japan of Yone Minagawa, who was four months her senior. Read the rest of this entry »

Libur Natal dan Tahun Baru sudah di depan mata. Lembaga penelitian National Institute on Media and the Family (NIMF) mengeluarkan daftar game yang tidak layak dimainkan anak.
Pasalnya pada musim liburan, banyak anak akan menghabiskan waktu di depan layar komputer atau televisi untuk bermain video game. Menurut NIMF, game-game beradegan kekerasan dengan konten khusus dewasa ternyata sering dimainkan oleh anak-anak.
NIMF mengimbau agar orangtua mendamping anaknya saat bermain game. Mereka mengeluarkan daftar 10 game yang dianggap berbahaya dan perlu dijauhi bagi anak-anak, seperti dikutip detikINET dari Digitaljournal, Rabu (26/11/2008):

Game ini adalah game olahraga football yang identik dengan kekerasan antar pemainnya. Game ini dikeluarkan oleh Midway, yang juga penerbit game Mortal Kombat.
